3、,and in what kind of facilities”,Curriculum 课程,课程标准(curriculum standard)是国家对基础教育课程的基本规范和质量要求，是国家课程的基本纲领性文件。课程标准在教育大词典第1卷中被解释为：课程标准是确定一定学段的课程水平及课程结构的纲领性文件。它规定了一定学习阶段学校教育的培养目标，以及为了达到这些培养目标，所规定的教学内容及其安排。,基础教育课程改革纲要中还进一步指出：“国家课程标准是教材编写、教学、评估和考试命题的依据，是国家管理和评价课程的基础”；课程标准应体现国家对不同阶段的学生在知识与技能、过程与方法、情感态度与价值观等

10、素养（特别是语言运用能力）提出了更高和更多样化的要求，其中包括：升学要求就业要求适应多元文化的要求,2、原有高中英语课程的课程目标单一，忽视外语课程在发展学生思维能力、培养情感态度价值观等方面所起的重要作用。因此，原有课程既不能满足社会的需求，也不能满足学生自身发展的需求。,3、原有的高中英语教育理念落后，受应试教育(exam-oriented education)影响太深；教学内容陈旧、单一，不能激发学生的学习积极性；课程设计缺乏多样性和选择性，不能满足不同学生的学习需求。,4、原有的高中英语教学方式过于强调语言知识的教学，过于强调知识的系统性和完整性，而忽视实际语言运用能力的培养。,5、原

11、有高中英语教学过多地采用接受式学习方式，不利于学生优化学习方式，不利于学生形成自主学习(autonomous learning)的能力。,6、原有的课程评价过于强调对知识的掌握情况的评价，忽视对语言能力的评价；过于强调评价的甄别作用，而忽视评价的其他功能，特别是对教学的促进作用。,7、2001年颁布的英语课程标准（实验稿）已经包含了高中阶段的课程内容，但是这个版本的课程标准未能充分体现高中课程改革的最新要求。因此，有必要制订新的高中英语课程标准。,国外外语教学发展与改革的主要趋势:,Q:Group work:What should be improved in current English
