5、10、My niece whose husband is out of work will inherit the house which I have always treasured.,限制性定语从句与非限制性定语从句的区别(1)限制性定语从句对先行词起限制、确定的作用，是先行词不可缺少的定语，如果省去，主句的意思就会不完整，不明确或不合逻辑。这种定语从句和主句之间不能用逗号隔开。非限制性定语从句和先行词关系松散，只是对先行词作附加说明，如果省去，主句的意思仍然完整或清楚。这种定语从句和主句之间须用逗号隔开。,Examples:She kept on telling jokes,which

6、 made everyone angry.She kept on telling jokes which made everyone angry.They said they loved their children,who were well-behaved.They said they loved their children who were well-behaved.,(2)限制性定语从句的先行词总是一个名词或一个代词，而非限制性定语从句的先行词可以是一个词，也可以是部分或整个主句的意思。此时，一般用关系代词as或which引导。(3)限制性定语从句可以用关系代词that引导，而非限制

7、性定语从句则不能。,(4)在非限制性定语从句中，不能省略关系代词，而在限制性定语从句中则可以。(5)关系代词在非限制性定语从句中作介词的宾语时，介词前可以有被介词短语所修饰的词。如：He has two daughters,the elder of whom is married.,(6)在非限制性定语从句中，关系代词还可以作介词的宾语。He is ill,in spite of which he keeps on studying.(7)关系副词when和why用于引导限制性定语从句时，在口语和非正式文体中可以省去，但是where通常不可以省去。,a.Be sure to call on u

9、谓语通常要有be或别的系动词，但which不受此限制。如：Li Ming was late,which(=and this)made Mr.Zhang very angry.李明迟到了，这件事使张先生非常生气。(不可用as),3).as 引导的定语从句只表示一个众所周知或意料之中的事，但 which 不受此限制。如：He married her,which was unexpected.他和她结婚了，这是出乎意料的。(不可用as)4).as有“正如”之意，而which则意为“这(件事，一点)”，可用and this/that/it来代替。5).as多用于固定搭配中：as is often th

10、e case(这是常有的事)，as was expected(不出所料)，as often happens(正如经常发生的那样)，as is known to all(众所周知)，as has been said before(如上所述)，as is mentioned above(正如上面所提到的)等。注：which 代表整个句子，还可用于in which case,at which point,on which occasion等。如：I may have to work late,in which case,I may have to work late,in which case Il
