Today Im much honored to stand here to talk about the topic Im going to be a basketball player. Ill divide the instruction into5

They are Teaching Material Analysis, Teaching Objective Analysis, Teaching Method Analysis, Teaching Procedures Analysis and Blackboard design.(First of all, please follow me to see Part 1)Part1 Analysis of the teaching material:Status and functionThis period is from Section A of “Unit10 Im g

3、oing to be a basketball player.” The teaching content is from 3a to 4. This is an important lesson in Book Two. And it is the third period of this unit; it talks about future intentions by talking about dreams and jobs. The students have already known some words and expressions about jobs in this un

4、it, but in this period, well learn how to write and say something about dreams and jobs. In fact, this lesson helps the students consolidate the target language and learn to use it fluently. Meanwhile, it helps the students practice listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.But its difficult f

5、or the students to talk about this topic because they are short of words and expressions. They dont know much about this. So I regard the following things as key and important points.Teaching key points:1. Master the new words: dream, somewhere, exhibition, artist, part-time, save, at the same time,

6、 hold, rich, travel, all over, retire, yet.2. How to talk about dreams and jobs( what, where, how, when, why)Teaching difficult points:1. How to make the students understand the new language items naturally.2. How to make the students work well with their partners.3 .How to make the students remembe

7、r the new words as soon as possible. (so much for this part, lets come to Part2)Part2 Analysis of the ObjectivesAccording to the teaching materials, I design the following three objectives.Knowledge Objectives:1. Study the new words2. Make the students know how to talk about dreams and jobs.Ability

8、Objectives:1. Develop the students ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing.2. Train the students ability of communication.Moral Objectives:1. Make the students be interested in good co-operation and competition. 2. Make the students love life , love work(so much for this part , lets come

9、 to Part3)Part3 Analysis of the teaching Method 1. Analysis of the studentsThe object of my teaching is the students in Grade8.First, they have learnt a little English and can express their own opinions in English, they are interested in learning English; second, they have a strong memory and the ab

10、ility to imitate; third they have a strong thirst for knowledge. Besides, theyd like to behave themselves.2. Analysis of the teaching methodsSo I take Communicative teaching method and “Task based teaching method. I give them enough chances to practice, and I will use pair work, group work ,memory t

11、est and so on to let the students take an active part in all kinds of activities. That is “Learning by doing, learning by using”. Let the students be the masters of the class teaching, thus, student centered teaching pattern is well shown. So I think my teaching methods are in line with the requirem

12、ent of . Of course during my teaching, I will use CAI to arouse the students interest (Next I will talk about part4)Part 4 Analysis of the Teaching proceduresStep1. Warm-upAsk some students some target languages questions to check if they have remembered the contents they had learned before. Such as

13、: What are you going to be when you grow up? How are you going to do that? Where are you going to work/live?Step 2. PairworkI will ask the students to discuss their dreams in pairs.It can help the students revise the target languages ( what, how, where questions) and make them understand each other

14、well.Step3. PresentationFirst, Ill introduce my dream with some new words and expressions with the help of CAI, such as dream, artist and so on, and give some questions. Then let the students answer them and check the answers , explain if necessary to make sure the students understand them. I think

15、its helpful to their listening and speaking and I also want to help them learn the new words in this way.Step4. Reading I will ask the students to read the passage and finish the following tasks. Task 1: Underline the things that Tian Tian is going to do .Task2: Find out the new words and expression

16、s. After that, help the students understand the meanings according to the passage. Task 3: Learn and use the words and expressions. I think this can help them learn consciously. Especially in Task 3, Challenge and Translate can help them consolidate what they are learning.Step 5. GroupworkI will div

17、ide the students into three groups . Each group chooses one topic. And give a report.Topic1:What will your life be like in ten years?（job, work place ）Topic2:What are you going to do for the 2012 London Olympic Games?Topic3:What are you going to do for your friends birthday party next Sunday?I think

18、 these free topics can arouse their interest . Thus , the students can use the target language naturally.Step6. Homework Write a short passage with the title : My dream job. In my opinion, it can improve the writing skills. Of course, it can help them revise what they learned. I believe that the stu

19、dents will love life and study more.Part 5:Blackboard Design:Unit10 Im going to be a basketball player.SectionA (3A-4)New words and expressions: My dream job Tian Tians dream jobhold Whats my dream job? Whats her dream job?artist Why? Why?somewhere How to make it come true? How to make it come true?

20、 First , this design can tell the students the key words and expressions they must leran. Second, I put My dream job and Tian Tians dream job together to compare how to describe their own dream jobs. Its easy for the students to understand. During my teaching, Ill try my best to get my class alive and encourage the students to talk with each other in English. I think the general aim of English teaching is to improve the ability of using English. And Ill use this to guide my teaching. Thats my speaking. Thanks for your listening.
