2、haHadid: In my career, the architecture industry is in the continuous development and improvement. I graduated thirty years ago, and then took part in the architecture industry. The situation in those days was comparatively worse, there was no spirit of optimism, no new world to discover, and no new

3、 skills had been found. Although there emerged some good works in the sixties and seventies, the development of architecture industry was not optimistic by the eighties even to the nineties, as people in that time were more fascinated to look forward whereas they should have looked backward, for if

4、we want to look into the future, we should think the history first. 6、One best part of architecture is the ability to add value, create value, make better space, and promote the development and interaction of community. All parts around the world are looking forward to globalization and meanwhile talking about art, which is unprecedented and at which I feel so excited

9、eas, backward areas, some abandoned docks and industrial areas in the past, and everyone is trying hard to find a way of improving their qualities. Developing countries including China have greater urban space for development, which I think we can provide very broad space and development opportuniti

10、es for the work of architects. On the other hand, the city managers hope to treat architectures as the symbol of city, and make very high demands on architectures, but in the process of architectural design, the architects may become victims of urban architecture and economic development if they are

11、 uncertain. 12、要不停地问自己一些问题，要知道我们有很多情况是不了解的，我们必须要尽可能的掌握情况和信息，这很难。 Jean Nouvel: If we talk about what the present situation of architecture and the key of work are, I think an architect should answer some questions, but sometimes the questions are difficult to answer as we are always ignorant, it is very strange we

13、are not familiar with some parameters, sizes, dimensions, projects or people. With the development of globalization, there will be more circumstances and conditions unknown to us. Each project is a start of exploration and adventure and we are trying our best to understand the situation, listening t

14、o others opinions and suggestions, and incessantly asking some questions to ourselves at all times, as there are many cases that we dont understand and we must master the situations and information as far as possible, but it is really difficult to do so. 王澍：我觉得这是两个方面的事，今天每位建筑师的工作都不可避免在一个全球化的背景下进行，这样

15、就产生了很多前所未有的问题，一方面是好事，因为交流开放是好的，另外一方面这个世界全球化背后就是全球商业化、全球工业化，有某种像商品一样标准化的建筑在全世界泛滥着，一种标准化的跨国界的管理模式在全世界渗透，对文化的多样性一定有很大的破坏力，所以我觉得全球化的今天需要激发大家来思考，如何保持自己的文化中特殊的东西。 Wang Shu: I think there are two aspects of this issue, the work of each architect today is inevitable in a context of globalization, thus creat

16、ing many unprecedented problems. On the one hand, it is good as open communication is good; on the other hand, the global commercialization and global industrialization are just behind the globalization of the world. Some sort of standardized architecture such like merchandise are overflowing in the

17、 whole world, and one standardized cross-border management mode is infiltrating in the world as well, which must have great destructive power to the cultural diversity. Therefore, I think the globalization of today needs to inspire everyone to think about how to keep something special in our own cul

18、ture. 崔恺：在我看来全球现在的建筑的发展应该是一种多元化，所谓多元化是我们一方面看到最有创造性的一批建筑大师引领着建筑学向前，同时也有很多的建筑师在关注生态节能环保方面做了大量工作，当然也有很多的建筑师对城市的文脉地域性作很多深入的工作，所以当我们在世界各地旅行的时候我们可以看到新的建筑形态出现，全球化和地域性是同时存在的，总体上全球化不可避免，建筑师的工作是在非常特殊的背景下来做的，既是在全球化的背景下产生，又是在特别的地域环境下产生，所以可以在一个具体的建筑中看见，也可以在全球化中看见。 Cui Kai: In my opinion, the global architecture

19、development in the present should be a sort of diversification. For the so-called diversification, on the one hand, we can see a number of the most creative master architects leading the architecture forward. On the other hand, there are many architects doing a great deal of work concerned about the

20、 ecological energy saving and environmental protection, and of course, some others are concerned about the regional city context and doing many in-depth work as well. Accordingly, when we travel around the world, we can always see the emergence of new architectural forms. Globalization and localization coexist, and the overall globalization is inevitable. Architects complete their work under very special backgrounds, both the background of globalization and the particular territorial environment; therefore, it can not only be seen in a specific architecture, but also in the globalization.
