Jeremy Hampden has a large circle of friends and if very popular at parties. Everybody admires him for his great sense of humour - everybody, that is, except his six-yea

2、r-old daughter, Jenny. Recently, one of Jeremys closest friends asked him to make a speech at a wedding reception. This is the sort of thing that Jeremy loves. He prepared the speech carefully and went to the wedding with Jenny. he had included a large number of funny stories in the speech and, of c

3、ourse, it was a great success. As soon as he had finished, Jenny told him she wanted to go home. Jeremy was a little disappointed by this but he did as his daughter asked. On the way home, he asked Jenny if she had enjoyed the speech. To his surprise, she said she hadnt. Jeremy asked her why this wa

4、s so and she told him that she did not like to see so many people laughing at him! He said: “ Dont do that again.” He tell me not to do that again. eg. He said: “ Get everything ready in two hours.” He ordered us to g

He told us to get everthing ready in two hours. 转述别人的话时，我们可以用 tell sb. to do/ask sb. to do/order sb. to do 2. 在引述祈使句时，我们不一定都用say, tell, ask 这几个动词，还可以用suggest, insist 等。 eg. “ Stay to lunch”, he insisted. He insist that I should stay to lunch. eg. “Come with me”, he s

28、uggested. He suggested that I should go with him. 注意：suggest 表“建议”，insist 表示“坚持要求”时，后面的从句中，谓语动词为 (should) do 形式。 1. “Open the door for me please.” She said to me. What did she ask me to do? She asked me to open the door for her. 2. “ Dont make so much noise,” she said to the children. What did she t

30、t I should ask him about it. 用I wonder 来转述疑问句 1. Can he wait a few minutes longer? (I wonder if) I wonder if he can wait a few minutes longer. 2. When will he arrive? ( I wonder when) I wonder when he will arrive. 3. Has he passed his examination? I wonder whether he has passed his examination. 4. Where is he? I wonder where he is.
