2、liver Twist雾都孤儿中南希的人物性格分析毕业论文(设计)目的意义:雾都孤儿是19世纪英国的杰出小说家狄更斯的第二部长篇小说。作者通过现实主义的叙事手法,精彩的个性化语言和出人意料的故事结局表达对当时社会的黑暗、不公平充满了愤慨,而本论文通过分析南希的双重性格,揭示无论环境多么恶劣,都无法泯灭人类本性中的善良成分,并由此引出作者对人类善良本性的呼唤及对未来的美好憧憬,又真实地表现了资本主义社会穷苦儿童的悲惨生活,从而达到唤起大众良知,让大众认识到资本主义的黑暗和批判资本主义的目的。毕业论文(设计)要求与计划:撰写论文时要严格按开题报告的程序进行,根据所撰写的提纲收集材料。选取有利于文章

5、英国批判现实主义作家中的杰出代表。雾都孤儿中虽然奥利弗是主角,但刻画得最具特色的人物却是南希,一个四岁后就被迫成为小偷的女性,她的角色有较强的现实意义。作者通过用大量的语言、对话来塑造这一人物的矛盾性格,真实地表现了资本主义社会穷苦儿童的悲惨生活。本文首先从作者的理想化的现实主义入手,着重从南希的一系列行为分析她的双重性格,以及形成这个性格的原因。通过对南希的双重性格的分析来呼唤人类的善良本性及憧憬美好的未来,南希的死亡不仅是对黑暗资本主义社会的批判,对现代社会的发展和建设也有巨大的现实意义。关键词:雾都孤儿;南希;双重性格;理想化的现实主义AbstractCharles Dickens wa
6、s a critical realist in the 19th century; he was the most outstanding representative of English critical realism writers. Although Oliver is the leading role of Oliver Twist, but Nancy who was being a thief after four is depicted as the most distinctive character, Nancys role has a strong practical

The author uses a large number of words and dialogues to shape the contradictive personality of Nancy and truthfully reflects the poor childrens miserable life in the capitalist society. This thesis dissect the authors idealized realism, and then emphatically dissect Nancys double char
8、acters by series of behaviors from analysis and the reason of becoming such a character. It looks forward to the human kind and bright future by analyzing Nancys double characters. And Nancys death not only criticizes the dark capitalist of society but also has a great practical significance for the

11、ments191 IntroductionCharles Dickens was an English writer and social critic who is generally regarded as the greatest novelist of the Victorian period and the creator of some of the worlds most memorable fictional characters. During his lifetime Dickenss works enjoyed unprecedented popularity and f
12、ame, and by the twentieth century his literary genius was fully recognized by critics and scholars. His novels and short stories continue to enjoy an enduring popularity among the general reading public. Due to his experience, he exposes the social injustice and the voices of the upper class and put
13、 his heart into describing the miser of the ordinary people. Oliver Twist, reflecting the tragic fact of the life in 19th century, marks the very beginning of Dickenss literary life. This novel is a powerful exposure of the bourgeois society. It shows the extreme brutality and corruption of oppose a
14、nd reveals the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.Oliver Twist, Dickenss second novel, shocked readers with its images of poverty and crime. It destroyed middle class polemics about criminals, making any
15、pretense to ignorance about what poverty entailed impossible. A major concern of Oliver Twist is the question of whether a bad environment can irrevocably poison someones character and soul. As the novel progresses, the character who best illustrates the contradictory issues brought up by that quest
16、ion is Nancy. As a child of the streets, Nancy has been a thief and drinks to excess. The narrators reference to her “free and agreeable . . . manners” indicates that she is a prostitute. She is immersed in the vices condemned by her society, but she also commits perhaps the noblest act in the novel
17、 when she sacrifices her own life in order to protect Oliver. Nancys moral complexity is unique among the major characters in Oliver Twist. The novel is full of characters who are all good and can barely comprehend evil, such as Oliver, Rose, and Brownlow; and characters who are all evil and can bar
18、ely comprehend good, such as Fagin, Sikes, and Monks. Only Nancy comprehends and is capable of both good and evil. Her ultimate choice to do good at a great personal cost is a strong argument in favor of the incorruptibility of basic goodness, no matter how many environmental obstacles it may face.
19、In this novel, Nancy is a typical character who had the same suffering with Oliver Twist but the different ending from him. This paper consists of five chapters. Firstly, brief introduction to the works, the second part mainly introduce Charles Dickens and Oliver Twist. The third part from Charles D
20、ickenss idealized realism and Nancys double characters to analyses Nancys Characters. The fourth part is about the reasons for. Finally, there will be a conclusion. Due to the description of Nancys double characters in the novel, the image of the dark society becomes more vivid and the theme of the
