1、虚拟语气,The Subjunctive Mood,一、什么是虚拟语气？,语气是动词的一种形式，用来表示讲对某件事情的看法或态度。英语中有三种语气：,语气,陈述语气(Indicative Mood),祈使语气(Imperative Mood),虚拟语气(subjunctive Mood),1,2,陈述语气一般用来讲述事实或提出疑问，常常用于陈述句、疑问句和感叹句。,I took a shower after supper.What does this sentence try to tell us?,祈使语气主要用于祈使句，由说话者向对方下达命令、提出要求、劝告等。,Try your best

2、 next time!Let the girl stay away from the fire!,3,虚拟语气是一种特殊的动词形式，用于表示说话人所说的话不是事实，而是想像、假设建议、打算、愿望等。,If we had met her last night,we would have told her what had happened.If I were you,I would leave the city quickly.,虚拟语气最常见的表达形式就是采用“if”引导的非真实性条件状语从句，主句以及从句明显同过去、现在或将来已经发生的事或将要发生的事实相反。,2023/2/24,条件句表示

3、主句的条件,分真实条件句 和虚拟条件句 两种。,a.真实条件句 表示条件是真的或有可能实现的,采用陈述语气。b.虚拟条件句 表示条件是无法实现或几乎无法实现的,采用虚拟语气。,真实条件句,真实条件句用于陈述语气，假设的情况可能发生，其中 if 是如果的意思。句型：条件从句 主句 一般现在时 shall/will+动词原形If he comes,he will bring his violin.,注意：在真实条件句中，主句不能用be going to表示将来，该用shall,will.(错)If you leave now,you are never going to regret it.(对)

5、 would(could,might)go with you.,如果他有时间，他就会（可能）和你去。,If I were you,I should(would,could,might)tell him the truth.,要是我是你，我就会对他说实话。,从句：动词过去式（did/were）主句：would/could/might/should+动词原形（do）注：should只用于主句的主语是第一人称时,文库专用,10,注意：在虚拟语气的从句中，动词be的过去时态一律用“were”，不用was，即在从句中be用were代替。If I were you,I would go to look f

23、huge amount of time and energy.故选择A。句意为：如果我早知道这个电脑程序，就可以节省大量的时间和精力了。,虚拟语气假设条件句型注意点：,1.条件从句谓语动词发生的时间与主句所假设的谓语动词不一致，叫做错综条件虚拟语气。主句和从句的谓语动词要依照假设的时间而定。,If you _ the teachers advice,you _(be)in the hospital now.,had followed,wouldnt be,2.倒装:条件从句中有should,were,had三个助动词可以把if省略,并将这三个词提至句首。,If I were you,I wou

24、ld not do it.If I were to meet him tomorrow,I should ask him about it.If I had time,I would go.,=Were I you,=Were I to meet him tomorrow,=Had I time,6.含蓄条件句,在虚拟语气中，有的句子可能没有明显的由“if”引导的条件从句，但是句子中隐含着一个条件，这种句子称为含蓄条件句，通常有以下两种来表达。,1,介词或介词短语。常见的可以引导虚拟语气的介词有：with,without,in the absence ofunder,but for,for t

25、he fear of等。,In the absence of sunlight,there would be no moonlight.Under a better condition,we would have done much better.,含蓄条件句 有时不用if引导条件从句，而用介词短语（without,otherwise,but for,)例如：Without air，there would be no wind or clouds没有空气就不会有风，也不会有云。In that case，we could have done the work better如果那样的话，我们本可能
