In building a harmonious society, education is bound to pursue the harmony between education and society, education and nature, and teachers and students.The harmony between teachers and students plays a very important role in English teaching and learning for harmonious TSR ca

Now, with the development of teaching management, teaching methods and teaching concept, people are paying more attention to Teacher

10、s-Students Relationship (TSR for short). It is the trend of quality-oriented environment between teachers and students, which will have positive effects on the study of English for many students. Teachers should try their best to help students get rid of psychological barriers and build comfortable

11、and stress-free atmosphere to help students explore their potentials. Effective interaction between teaching and learning, tacit coordination and happy cooperation between teachers and students can bring about good teaching results. Human feelings are a kind of psychological phenomenon, which accomp

12、anies the process of cognition. It is a significant factor that cannot be omitted in the process of English teaching and learning.A. Traditional viewpoint about TSR in ChinaTraditional English teaching is based on book knowledge, in which students are compelled to perform in obedience to their teach

13、ers during the classes. Teachers are the center in traditional English classrooms which has many shortcomings. It is believed that teachers are the initiators, the leaders and the key persons in the students heart. For a long time, students were tied to the traditional ideology that once your teache

14、r teaches you, he or she will be your teacher forever. Under this ideology teachers were strict with students and students had to show complete obedience to teachers. Worshiping teachers is originally undisputable, but often causes teachers to be in the upper position and students to be in the lower

15、 position. There is a lack of equal communication between teachers and students. During the process of teaching, it emphasizes the teachers role rather than that of students, language instruction rather than non-intelligence factors of students. As a result, teaching activities became the stage for

16、teachers to perform according to their will, while students played the minor or passive role.B. Problems of the current TSR1. Ethical relation1.1 Infringing upon students rightsStudents are independent persons who have their own rights. But, teachers often infringe, though unintentionally, upon thei

17、r rights and freedom of accepting education during the teaching process. For instance, the whole class is asked to stay in the classroom by a teacher after school, for one student throws a piece of paper to the teacher who is writing on the blackboard; some students who unmindfully talk in the class

18、 are forced to go to the guidance room to accept criticism from the school leaders; some students who doze off are forced to stand in the last row to attend a class. At present, these phenomena are not unusual, but everyday occur. 1.2 Doing what is supposed to be done by studentsTeachers always prep

19、are everything for students, which are usually regarded as good teachers quality, but in fact they deprive of students independence of their chances to fulfill their own duty. For example, teachers write down whatever they think important and useful on the blackboard while students passively copy an

20、d can not show their own subjective initiation fully during their learning; teachers arranges everything, such as the arrangement of classroom, the blackboard newspaper in school and so on, and students only play a minor role.2. Emotional relationNowadays, teachers and students hardly communicate wi

21、th each other after class. Except the prominent or the particularly naughty students, teachers even dont know the names of students. They are indifferent to each other, let alone caring about or trusting one another. Students are not able to get prompt help from teachers when they have difficulty in

22、 their learning or daily life. Some frictions between classmates are not reported promptly to teachers and finally even result in group fighting. When teachers and students come across each other on the road, they may avoid greeting each other on purpose if possible. When students have complaints ab

23、out the teachers, lack of communication between teachers and students strengthens the contradictory and deepens their misunderstandings. What is worse, sometimes teachers and students have direct language and behavior attack for they have different ideas, different emotions and different psychologie

24、s.3. Practical relationThe pragmatism utilitarian and the vulgar commercialization color of TSR are obvious day by day. For example, some parents give gifts to teachers with the hope that their own children can be in favor of teachers and obtain priority whenever possible. At the same time, some tea

25、chers also try their best to hunt for help from students parents in order to solve their own individual difficulties or some private affairs. For the actuation of material interests and the influence of practical utilitarianism, teachers are unable to treat each student fairly, which has negative in

26、fluences on other students. When students feel unfairly treated, the barrier between teachers and students forms and deepens. Whats worse, such unhealthy relation may cause students to look down upon teachers, which will further affect TSR and the effectiveness of teaching.Against such background an

Foundation of harmonious TSRToday, while in the education for all-ground development teaching, teachers no longer are merely the knowledge senders, but

Teachers no longer are the only textbooks interpreters, but should be collaborators who exchange with students creatively by using teaching materials and previous knowledge, teachers no longer are th

Therefore, building a new-style TSR is necessary for effective English learning, and modern English teaching as well.The TSR usually involves two main bodies: teachers and students. The TSR is the most main interpersonal relationship during the teaching

Whats more, it is the most basic interpersonal communication which is that teachers and students complete certain education task as a goal during the education period. Nowadays, the c

34、oncept of harmonious society inevitably confronts us with humans harmonious development. But human being, which is the most basic factor for the harmonious society construction, should have harmonious personality, thought and interpersonal relationship which are the theme of the harmonious society c

And human beings development is the biggest mission for education, so our education must receive the difficult task that cultivates the responsible and harmonious personalitys human being for the whole society. Therefore, the harmonious TSR is a great significant factor that can not be

In the process of building harmonious TSR, teachers play a more active role, for establishing the harmonious TSR is beneficial to teachers and students subjective wish and teachers practical work. Generally speaking, the harmonious TSR is

37、teachers-students relationship in which “they are approval of each other in the cognition; they are mutually joyful in the emotion; their goals hasten with each other in the behavior” 2. Teachers should strengthen his own tutelage, enhance enthusiasm and ability which resist bad social corrodes, and

Definition of harmonious TSRHarmony as a philosophy proposition refers to a kind of coordinated, balanced and cooperative condition between the exterior objective world and th

39、e internal essential factors. It is also a perfect and ideal condition for the sound development of things. It is a relational category. However, harmony is not a general relationship, but an ideal relationship which manifests stable, orderly and coordinated condition. The harmony of teaching proces

40、s refers to a coordinated, balanced and cooperative condition between various teaching essential factors and teaching environment.“Relation” refers to a kind of condition that affects mutually between things. “The interpersonal relationship” refers to a stable psychology or a psychological distance

In the school, teachers and students are the most active factors in the teaching process, and teachers nearly have classes to communicate with student everyday. Therefore, the TSR is the most basic and the most important interpersona

42、l relationship in the teaching process. The harmonious TSR is a coordinated, balanced and cooperative condition between teachers and students in the teaching process and the teaching environment. Thus, it improves the quality of teaching, and enables students to obtain harmonious and comprehensive d

43、evelopment. Functions of Harmonious TSR in English teaching The 8th national new curriculum reform (1999) has pushed the emotional and cognitive factors to a more important position. Among the emotional and cognitive factors, the harmonious TSR is the pivotal one in that English teaching is cooperat

44、ion between teachers and students, which requires active attendances from both sides. They exchange not only in knowledge about English but also in affection. The harmonious TSR plays a very important role in motivating students interest and enthusiasm in learning English. In English classroom, teac

45、hers and students are the major factors in the teaching process, precisely because English teaching process consists of English teachers teaching and students learning. Modern teaching methods specially emphasize the relationship between teachers and students. Harmonious interpersonal relationship i
