The captain of whaleship Ahab represents the desire of human beings. In the beginning, Captain Ahab lost a leg in a previous encounter with Moby Dick. But he didnt give
4、up chasing the whale he wanted to vanquish the whale and ravage. So he destroyed the whale Moby dick finally. But he also can not survive. IntroductionIn Moby-Dick, Herman Melville told us his own ideas about conflict between human and natural

So I analysis the two main symbolisms of this novel and I want to expound about my understanding of this novel is if human being wants to develop on our planet long-term we must obey the rules of nature and protect ou
7、r home.2. The story of this novelAs we know Moby-Dick also as known as The Whale is noted as a great epic in American history. The story tells the adventures of the wandering sailor Ishmael and his voyage on the whaleship Pequod, commanded by Captain Ahab. Ishmael soon learns that Ahab seeks one spe
8、cific whale: Moby Dick, a ferocious, enigmatic white sperm whale. In a previous encounter, the whale destroyed Ahabs boat and bit off his leg. Ahab intends to take revenge. Melville the writer employs stylized language, symbolism, and metaphor to explore numerous complex themes. Through the main cha
9、racters journey, the concepts of class and social status, good and evil, and the existence of gods are all examined as Ishmael speculates upon his personal beliefs and his place in the universe. In Moby-Dick, Herman Melville told us his own ideas about conflict between human and natural in a romanti

Symbolisms of the characters in Moby-Dick3.1 Captain Ahab (represent the relationship between human and nature)Captain Ahab the protagonist of this novel and the whale Moby Dick is a pair of sharp contradictions, this contradiction represents the human and nature of the conflict. 11、method of measure about the relationship between human and nature, this conflict is objective, inevitable, and inescapable. Captain Ahab represents human in front of nature. He was sent to vanquish nature by human. Even though he was an ordinary people, but he had some kinds of virtue like fortitude
12、 and unyielding that ordinary people dont have. At the same time, in his body we have also discovered crazy, selfish and some kinds of black deed that make us have a total understanding about this character. From his virtues, he almost gods, let people believe in and excited; From his dark side look
13、, he and getting closer to the Moby Dick and became a demon, let a person feel disgusting and terrible. Because of this, captain Ahab is a real and powerful people, only he can complete human conferring destroy the white whale mission. For Ahab speaking, this mission is sacred, is historic. The proc

Human in the process of conquering nature, we must resolve internal contradiction, must overcome their own various weaknesses, only in this way, can fight with nature in success. Captain Ahab to destroy the white whale process is in the process of mankind conquer nature, is a concentration of a bloody struggle countless times. 3.2 The w

Human and natural who also conquer, who, they like the earth, like the two extremely complement each other, depend on, maintains that the world works. Human being and the nature do make friends or foes, this problem can
24、not find the answer. The fading of Ahab and Moby Dick not solve this difficult problem, the modern people dont know if it can solve. Human nature, is how human beings face permanent faces a topic, is the humanity can remain their own a key.4. Conclusion:Should humans development really establish on
25、destruction? When I finish reading this novel this question keeps repeating in my mind. In the novel, the writer actually discusses a question: human control nature or human obey nature. The strong whale Moby Dick represents the strong force of nature. The whaleships captain Ahab represents the huma
26、ns desire of vanquish. Both of them are very strong, so in this novel the writer makes them kill each other. The writer tells us in the game of vanquish and being vanquished both of us cant win. The result of this game is human destroy nature, our own home and human cant live any more. Does it make
27、any sense that a person against his own family? I think nature is our family, our home we can not against it. If we want develop we must protect and show some respect to our planet that we live on.
