6、a.cause 指直接导致行为或事件发生的原因，即“起因”；reason指解释某事为什么发生的理由或借口，这种理由可能不是真正的原因；该词多用于人的行为。例：The cause of the fire was carelessness.Thats the reason why he left.,比较：The cause of the accident was the fact that he was driving too fast.车祸的原因是他当时开得太快了。The reason he was driving too fast was that he was late for work.他

7、开得快的原因是他上班要迟到了。b.cause 表示“使发生、导致、引起”，是及物动词；reason表示“评理、劝说”，是不及物动词，常与with,into,out of 连用例：He caused me to drop my suitcase.他弄得我把衣箱扔了。I tried to reason with her but she locked herself in the bathroom.我试着向她解释但是她把自己关在浴室不愿出来。,4.Yesterday the firemen examined the ground carefully,but were not able to find
