decision n.决定 whole adj.整个的 single adj.唯一的,单一的,语法 Grammar in use1.一般过去时 与一般现在时一般现在时可以表示习惯性或经常性的动作。一般过去时通常表示过去发生的而现在已经结束的事件、动作或情况。它通常指动作何时发生,而不指动作持续多久。因此,过去时与表明事情何时发生的状语连用是非常重要的。像last summer,last winter,last week,last night等这类状语只能与过去时连用,不能与现在时连用,因为它们确指过去的时间。,2 本文语法:双宾语 宾语主要分为两大类:直接宾语和间接宾语。语法归纳:句子中的谓语动词后经常加 两个宾语,直接宾语为动作的转载 者,一般为人;直接宾语表示动作的真 正承受者或结果,一般为物。直接宾语 和间接宾语可以互相交换位置,二者之 间常用介词to或for进行连接。to表示方 向,对象,for表示目的。,许多及物动词后可以有两个宾语这类动词有give,show,send,bring,lend,tell,return,write,pay,teach,make,buy,find等。通常间接宾语在前,紧跟动词;不过,如想要强调直接宾语,也可将它置于动词之后、间接宾语之前。这时,间接宾语之前则必须用介词to或for:I want to buy my father a hat.I want to buy a hat for my father.我想给爸爸买顶帽子。,例如:标题:Please send me a card 请寄给我一张明信片。语言点 典型双宾语用法:me为间接宾语,a card为直接宾语。此句可以改为:Please send a card to me.,熟读课文明信片总搅得我假日不得安宁。去年夏天,我去了意大利。我参观了博物馆,还去了公园。一位好客的服务员教了我几句意大利语,之后还借给我一本书。我读了几行,但一个字也不懂。我每天都想着明信片的事。假期过得真快,可我还没有给我的朋友们寄过一张明信片。到了最后一天,我作出了一项重大决定。我早早起了床,买来了37张明信片。我在房间里关了整整一天。然而竟连一张明信片也没写成!,Lesson 3 holidays.明信片总是搅得我假日不得安宁。(1)always为频率副词,位于实义动词spoil之前。always与ever用法辨析:1)always和ever两个词的含义比较接近。always的含义是“总是”(=at all times/all the time)。However,this does not always happen.然而,这种情况并不总是发生。2)ever的含义是“不管在什么时候”(=at any time),多用于疑问句和条件句中。Have you ever been to Beijing New Oriental School?你去过北京新东方学校吗?3)forever或for ever意为“直到任何时候,永远”。I shall remember New Concept Engishforever.我会永远记住新概念英语的。2.holidays(英式)=vacations(美式):表示一个假期有很多天,常以复数形式出现。,2.Last summer,I went to Italy.去年夏天,我去了意大利。last summer为过去时间状语,谓语动词用went,满 足时间状语和时态一致的原则。(2)表达时间的单词:1)月份,首字母大写;2)星期,首字母大写;3)季节,一般首字母小写。(3)Italy(意大利)重读在第一音节,Italian(意大利语,意大利人)重读在第二音节。,3.I visited museums and sat in public gardens.我参观了博物馆,还在公园里小憩。(1)and连接两个句子,形成并列句,要注意时态一致。I ate an apple and drank a cup of cola.我吃了个苹果,喝了杯可乐。(2)public garden公园;private garden私家花园;public elementary school公立小学;public secondary school公立中学;private elementary school私立小学(3)the public公众;populace平民,大众,老百姓;population人口,4.A friendly waiter taught me a few words of Italian.一位好客的服务员教了我几句意大利语。(1)a few几个,修饰可数名词。a little一点点,修饰 不可数名词,还可以表述为a little bit,a bit,somewhat.I am somewhat tired of this work.我对这个工作有点厌烦了。(2)原句还可表达为:A friendly waiter taught me a little Italian.,5.Then he lent me a book.然后,他借给了我一本书。双宾语应用:lend sb,sth.=lend sth.to sb.借给某人某物/把某物借给某人Then he lent me a book.=Then he lent a book to me.I showed my mother(间接宾语)this wonderful picture(直接宾语).=I showed this wonderful picture(直接宾语)to my mother(间接宾语).我给母亲看了这张漂亮的照片。,6.I read a few lines,but I did not understand a word.我读了几行,但一个单词都不认识。(1)read译为“阅读,攻读,学习;看懂;辨认,察觉”read a riddle猜出谜语;read malice in sbs face从某人脸上看出恶意 How do you read the sentence?你怎么理解这句话?My brother reads the news lately.我弟弟最近才知道这个消息。(2)understand意为“懂,理解”,近义词有:comprehend,grasp,know,realize(3)understand的反义词有:misunderstand,misinterpret,7.Everyday I thought about postcards.假期里的每一天,我都在考虑明信片的事。think about考虑,think为不及物动词,后不可直接加宾语。(1)think of/about sth.=concern/consider sth.考虑某事,记着某事We are thinking of learning New Concept English Book Three.We concern about learning New Concept English Book Three.,8.My holidays passed quickly,but I did not send cards to my friends.我的假期过的飞快,但是我并没有给我的朋友们寄明信片。Time passed quickly/slowly.时间过得真快/慢!How time fles!(口语)光阴似箭!time after time(=again and again)一次又一次地,9.On the last day I made a big decision.在最后一天我作出了一项重大的决定。(1)“on the last+时间名词”表示具体的时间点,意为“最后的”last的两个常用的意思:1)上一个:last summer上个夏天;last year去年;last week上周 2)最后的(=final):Im the last one.我是最后一个。(2)make a big decision作出一项重大决定(decide为 名词)decide to do sth.决定去做某事(decide为动词)make up ones mind下定决心(动词短语,10.I got up early and bought thirty-seven cards.我起得很早并且去买了37张明信片。get up early/late起得早(晚);get up a party筹备一个舞会;get up a subject研究一门学科;get up speed加快速度,11.I spent the whole day in my room,but I did not write a single card!我在自己的房间里关了一整天,但是连一张明信片都没有写!(1)sb.spend+时间+地点“意为“某人在某地度过了多长时间”My father spent two weeks in Beijing.我爸爸在北京待了两个星期。(2)the whole day=all day整天in ones room在某人的房间里;in ones house在某人的房子里;at ones 表示在大的空间和地方,如城市国家等,所以选c.,4.A只有选a.Who taught,这句问话才与回答相配。,5.d只有选d.in a friendly way(以友好的方式)才能说明前一句He was a friendlywaiter,也合乎语法和逻辑。而其他3个 a.friend(朋友),b.as friends(作为朋友),c.likefriends(像朋友一样)在语法上都讲不通。,6.B本句的时态是一般过去时,应该用动词的过去式形式;a.reads 是第3人称蛋单数现在时形式;c.red 词意思不符合;d.reading 是现在分词形式;b.read 过去式和现在式形式相同,发音不同。所以只有选b.,7.Cthe hole 词意思不对;b.the ball 和 d.all of 不合乎习惯用法;英语中不用the all day,all of day这样一来的短语。只有选c.all 才能使句中的词组all day 同前一句中的the whole day 意思相同。,8.c句中的waiter 是“饭店服务员”的意思,他通常在饭店工作,而不在a.public garden(公园),b.shop(商店),d.private house(私宅)工作,所以选c.restaurant.,9.B只有b.borrowed 才与前一句中的lent相对应,而其他3个选择都不是。英语中的borrow 和lend都有“借”的意思,但是borrow是“向借”,而lend则是借给。,10.Ab.end(最后,结束)有名词和动词词性,不能用在名词前修饰名词。c.latest(最近的)不符合意思。d.bottom(底部)是名词,不能修饰名词只有a.final(最后的)才能使句子的意思成立。,11.B只有b.made up his mind(下决心)才同前一句中的made a big decision 意思相近。而其他3个选择a.thought about it(考虑),c.changed his mind(改变主意),d.made awish(立下心愿)都没有下决心的意思。,12.B只有b.didnt write even one(连一张也没有写)与前一句中的didnt write a single card意思相同,而a.wrote only one,c.wrote just one,d.wrote all the cardsexcept one 都与其意思有别。,Bye-bye!,
