The requirements cover devices with single-mode non-connectorised pigtails.C-band/L-band W DM devices combine and / or split C band and L band optical signals. Aguard band is required between the used wavelength in the C and L band.Commercially available C-band/L-band W DM devices have narrower wavelength ranges such as 1 530 nm to 1 564 nm for C-band and 1 574 nm to 1 625 nm for L-band, compared with ITU-T Supplement N.39 Definitions, 1 530 nm to 1 565 nm for C-band and 1 565 nm to 1625 nm for L-band. This standard describes performance standards for commercially availableC-band/L-band W DM devices.2Normative referencesThe following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. Each test defines the number of samples to be evaluated. The samples used for each test are intended to be previously unstressed new samples but may also be selected from previously used samples if desired. The samples shall be terminated onto single-mode fibres as per IEC 60793-2-50. All measurements shall be carried out at normal room conditions, unless otherwise stated. The tests shall be performed in sequential order as shown in Table A.1.All tests are to be carried out to validate performance over the required operating wavelength range. All tests shall be carried out over the optical wavelength 1 530 nm to 1 564 nm and1 574 nm to 1 625 nm, unless otherwise stated.6Test reportFully documented test reports and supporting evidence shall be prepared and be available for inspection as evidence that the tests have been carried out and complied with.7Performance requirements7.1DimensionsDimensions shall comply with either an appropriate IEC interface standard or with those given in appropriate manufacturers drawings, where the IEC interface standard does not exist or cannot be used.7.2Test details and requirementsThe requirements are given only for pigtailed WDM devices.
