MODULE 6 TEACHING PLANContent:Module 6 The Olympic adventure 一、 题材内容本模块话题是“体育运动”。内容为学生所熟悉,结合学校体育活动的开展及中国2008年奥运会的准备,便于开展课堂活动。要求学生了解奥运,了解不同国家和地区的体育运动,并且根据自己的知识与喜好做一张与体育有关的招贴画,掌握用形容词和副词来表达观点及形容词和副词的比较级的用法。所有这一切不仅与学生的生活,兴趣等相一致,而且也符合学生的认知水平。教学中教师应随时随地以课本为出发点,灵活利用各种素材组织教学过程和内容。充分调动学生的积极性。教学目标1) 语言知识:语音单词在句子中的重读词汇Olympic, adventure, more, dangerous, gymnastic, ski, popular, exciting, tiring, unpopular, boring, relax, relaxing, safe, neighbourhood, committee, arrive, late, back, however, slowly, loudly, clearly, visitor, need, quickly, well, badly, carelessly, better, hard, cassette, player, vocabulary, carefully, quietly, continue, until词组be good at , take around, morethan语法形容词和副词的比较级。功能观点表达,尤其是形容词和副词的表述。话题以“体育运动”为话题。2) 语言技能:听能辨别表示运动的词语以及表达观点的形容词; 能听懂用所学的形容词比较级所做的口头表述,询问及其回应的听力材料。说能运用比较级形式比较不同的体育项目。流利的说出含有本模块生词、短语。读能读懂介绍体育活动的短文,并且将描述与图表相匹配;理解阅读材料中所学的形容词比较级所表达的语义。进行简单的阅读技能训练。写能用too或also将句子连接起来,使句子更加连贯。演示与表达 能向同学们介绍自己的体育招贴画。3)学习策略学习一定程度形成自主学习,有效交际、信息处理、英语思维能力。认知联系,归纳,推测等技能。观察并归纳形容词的比较级的变化规则,提高自学能力。调控从同伴处得到反馈,对自己在叙述及作文中的错误进行修改交际学习运用恰当词语简单描述体育运动。资源通过其他资源获取更多有关“体育运动”的简单英语。自学策略培养在词语与相应事物之间建立联想的习惯,形成话题联想的习惯。能自己检索有关体育活动项目或奥运会的资料并进行阅读。合作学习策略互相学习,取长补短,注意学习策略共享,将自己所搜集的信息与其他同学共享 。4)文化意识:中外对比各民族都有自己民族特色的体育活动,各国都有自己的优势项目。体育运动是民族团结的纽带。5)情感态度:通过学习描述体育运动,提高对体育和英语的学习兴趣,养成爱好体育运动的习惯。参加各种英语活动,克服困难,在新环境中进一步树立准确的语言学习观。6)任务:能够制作招贴画,介绍体育招贴画内容以及自己为什么选择这些体育项目。教学重点和难点 重点:1掌握描述体育运动的基本词汇,读懂含有副词和形容词的比较级的句子,掌握形容词和副词的比较级的结构和用法。难点: 掌握形容词和副词的比较级的结构和用法。教学方法基于课程改革的理念及“第二语言习得论”,培养实现人的可持续发展和人的主体精神的自我完善和发展所必需的能力和素质,运用任务型教学途径,围绕核心任务,设定小任务,开展和谐愉悦的课堂活动,强调兴趣第一的原则,初步设计“PTP”自主学习立体模式:pre-tasktask-cyclepost-task。二、 教材处理核心任务:能够运用所学句型结构描述体育运动。三个环节如下:pre-task:学生联系生活实际,激活背景知识,。task cycle:通过整个模块的听说读写的训练,强化对“体育运动。”的表达能力,为完成任务做好铺垫post-task:达成任务,展示成果,反馈学习情况三、 教材安排根据学生学习英语的特点和规律,我们把本模块划分为4课时:Period 1: Vocabulary and Listening and PronunciationPeriod 2 Reading and Vocabulary Period 3. Directions: Talk about 2 cities or 2 countries. Eg.(1). Dalian is smaller than shanghai.Chang Jiang is wider than Hong Kong.Shanghai is busier than Hong Kong.China is bigger than the UK.Is China bigger than the UK?Yes, it is (2). Where are they?Its a big city in the west of Russia. Its on the Moscow River.Its a big city in the north of France. Its on the River Seine.Ask students to speak out as many as they can. We can use a map to help them. Part II: Lead in: Task 1: Introduce to them the new words in activity 1 on page 32.Directions:Step one: Read through the words and phrases in activity 1 on page 32 and have the Ss. repeat them after you chorally and individually.Step two: Ask the students to just listen to the recording the first time, focusing on the 6 words. Step three: Play the recording again and have them write the answers individually.Step four: Play the recording and have them check their answer with a partnerStep five: Call back the answers as complete sentences from the whole class. Task 2: Introduce to them the comparison of adjectives (2) in English.Directions:Step one. Elicit a few common adjectives from the Ss.( e.g.popular, exciting, boring, relaxing, tiring, dangerous) and write them on the blackboard. Step two: Change them into comparative degree: more+adj. +than. ( e.g.more popular, more exciting, more boring, more relaxing, more tiring, more dangerous) Step three: Write a sentence for each one,e.g. Basketball is more popular than football. Skiing is more dangerous than running. I think Maths is more boring than Chinese.Step four: Show the Ss. the structure more+adj.+than. and explain that we use this construction to compare 2 things. We may elicit other adjectives and some other examples of comparison from the Ss. (e.g.This pen is longer than that one)Task 3: Activity 2 and activity 3 on page 32.Directions:Step one: Match the sentences with the picturesStep two: Read through the sentences in activity 2 and have the Ss. She is a quick runner.Step two: Tell them that adverbs describe the verb and they follow the verb.Eg. She runs quickly. Step three: the form is very often the “adjective + ly” but there are a number of exceptions. Eg.
