    高中英语必修Unit2 English around the world说课稿一Analysis of the material The central topic of this unit is “English around the world". This unit seeks to give students a better understanding of how English developed and how it is spoken in the world. Students often hear talk about “standard english”. In fact, as this unit hopes to make clear, there is no such thing as one standard of spoken or written English. English is spoken in many countries throughout the world and many of them have different forms of expression. This lesson aims to open a window for students to learn English and to understand the developing trend of language. 二Teaching objectives.语言知识Learn the new words in this passage.The student will know the developing trend of English in the world.Will learn the difference between BE and AE语言技能learn to deal with difficulties in language communicationMaster the expression of direct speech and indirect speech of request and demand情感态度Will increase the students interest in learning english.文化意识Will broaden the students international mind and understand the cultural diversity. And gradually form the consciousness of cross culture communication, which will be the basis for learning Chinese and Western culture学习策略Will be able to predict the content of the text through title.Will be able to get information quickly by skimming and scanning.Can guess the meaning of the word from the context三 analysis of the studentsMy students are first-grade students of senior high school. They have been learning English in junior high school and have accumulated a certain number of vocabularies. They have mastered some simple learning strategies and skills with a preliminary ability of speaking and writing. However, the differences in students' personality and English proficiency are very large. So my teaching design should have gradient to meet the need of different student. I will seize the student's psychological characteristics and stimulate students' interest, so that they will learn to participate in the study, and learn to study in the participation四 Teaching key points and difficult points1. Key points: Know the stylistic features of narration, by which to guide the students reading 2. Difficult points: Develop the students reading skills of skimming, scanning and careful reading.Get the main idea and details of the text.五.Teaching method As is known to us all, a good teaching method requires that the teacher should help the Ss develop good sense of the English language. For achieving these teaching aims, I will use the following methods according to the modern social communication teaching theories.(1) Multi-media teaching(2) Cooperative learning-for example: group discussion(3)Task-Based Language Teaching: for example role playing game六Teaching AidProjector and a multi-media computer七Teaching procedure.Step1 Lead inAt the beginning of the class, I will show the students a video which was very popular on the internet. It is about a Chinese guy imitating English accents of 9 countries include Japan, Korea, India, French and so on.Purpose: Video has the advantages of vivid and intuitive, so the lesson will be more attractive. Lead in by a video can catch the students attention on class quickly. It will also keep them interested in learning.Step2 Warming up(1)Ask the Ss to read the dialogue below and ask them if they can understand what they are talking about. It seems that B gave some irrelevant answers to As question. But is that true? Why?Then ask some SS to talk about their opinion.A: Lets go to the pictures!B: Ok, But how shall we go to the movies?A: Why not go by Underground?B: Er, but the subway station is far away.(2) Then I will list some words on the blackboard and ask the student if they know which one is American English and which one is British English. (It is really hard to know the result.)Activity 3: listen to the tape and feel the accent of southern United States but I wont encourage the students to imitate the accent.After the three activities, I will teach new words and grammar in the passage.Purpose: To develop the students ability of catching the main idea of the text through basic reading skills of predicting, skimming, scanning and careful readingTo develop the students problem-solving ability through cooperation Step5 Post-readingDiscuss the following questions in groups.1. Why do you think people all over the world want to learn English?2. Why do you think more people in the world now want to learn Chinese?Purpose: develop the students ability of expressing opinions and thought to open their mind.Step6 HomeworkRead the whole text again.Rewrite the passage with the details you found in the text.Purpose: Rewrite this article can be very good to consolidate the knowledge in their own language, and mastery of narrative writing.
