Moreover, family education starts to shift from a little indifference before to a deep research. Family education combines the basic of school education and social education, and it is the first lesson in ones education. It is the human civilization development and a strong driving force of countries that will not be ignored. Chinese family education has be effected by thousand years traditional culture and thought, but in recently years, many family education methods in western countries have impact on Chinese family education mode. This paper will analyze the difference between China and western countries in family education in terms of culture and its development. The first part includes family education concept, family values and the different method, contents and its purpose between China and western countries. The second part will expound the reasons for the difference between China and western countries in family education. The third part will explain the two kinds of family education, which produces the different results. So as one of the hottest issue, more and more educators or scientists make a study of family education in many aspects, because good family education is closely related to children s behavior and quality and the children are the future of our country. Moreover, there are a lot of achievements in Chinas family education, such as, some students perform well, emerge many excellent scientists and Chinas economic develop fast. But Chinese family education still needs to go further, which is influenced especially by western countries family education in their purpose and methods through the rapid development of modernization in those years. Thus, there is a challenge and opportunity of improving Chinese family education from learning the merit of western countries family education. Oriental and western have the biggest distinct in family education pattern. There are many reasons cause the difference which include traditional education method and ideas and the mainly reason is cultural difference or others social conditions. Through comparison and analysis we can see the clearly difference between China and western countries in family education. The Concept of Family Values and Family EducationThe concept of family values is that each individual has a point of view, attitude or belief about family affairs. And family value also is an evaluation criterion of family meaning, purpose and ideal family pattern which affects individual management family life and family affairs decisions. Therefore, every relationships about families, husband and wife, parent-child, kinship and others related to family or marriage affairs views, attitudes and beliefs that all belong to family values. Learning family values will give a direction meanwhile help people build a better outlook on family life. There are many differences between China and western countries family 1value which can reflect from some aspects. Such as, western countries family value attaches importance to “self” benefits and they think home is the private place. However, China family value emphasis on “others” benefits and they consider know each other everything that a kind of care. The definition of family means that a group of people who have blood, marriage or adoption relationships. Family members share raise and educate theirs responsibility. The definition of family education means parents are the first and foremost people to educate their children in the family life. Moreover, according to modern ideas that family education include: family members interact influence and education in life; hire teachers of specialize in family education to teach their children. Family education is a lifelong education and plays a foundation role in a persons life. While a child go to elementary school or middle school, family education becomes more and more important. There is a big difference between China and western family education aims. As we all known, Chinese children's duty is only to hard study and gets high scores. So they often do little things on their ones own. Some reviewers think that Chinese parents are the most sacrifice parents. That all because Chinese parents want their children has a decent job and a good salary when they become the adults. They think that is the best for their children. In this way, Chinese parents often ignore children truly like 2things and add their unrealized dreams to their children life. In a sense, this aim is very high and full of utility. Chinese children from a very young age need to learn many extracurricular so-called interest classes. But most of children dont like those classes due to those classes take up too much their play time. Thus, many children have little imagination and their parents often ignore others talent and merits. They care about marks more than independent live ability. When a Chinese baby is born, his or her parents have already arrangement or plan the future. On the contrary, western countries parents havent a higher requirement for their children in the study aspect. They usually follow childrens nature, if they love study that their parents will support them. However, the most important characteristics for western countries children are the independence ability, which include self-management of daily life things and also earning on their lives. This is the biggest aim of western countries family education. Therefore, under this aim children are easier to find their life values in family education because they are easier find satisfied and content in the work. According to this aim, most of western countries children from their little age of 3 or 4 that sleep alone in their own room. When they get older, they will do some houseworks or others odd jobs to make money. So they have a deeply in financial concept than Chinese children. And some western countries children once grow in eighteen years old; they will move out from parents house and live alone. The Methods of Family Education in Western Countries and China In a way, family education method also has a bigger significant meaning. A better and scientific family education method can improve efficiency of educate children, no matter from the speed and consequence of the process. China and western countries family education method have a distinct different that due to a lot of reasons, such as, traditional culture and politic system and so on. The most different method between western and China is the status of parents and children. Generally speaking, western countries parents always treat their children as the closely friends that they lie in an equal status. So they can from childs angle to think things. And most of western 3countries parents tend to believe the children have self-reflection and self-education ability so that children should work and live on their selves. Another different method is western parents think children should gain happiness from the works. At the same time, children should gain experience and knowledge from labor. They make child know the labors values from little age. Children can repair motorcycle, motorcycle assembly, share home mowing, and painting house, shovel snow in winter and sweep leaves in autumn. As a result, their operation ability is better than Chinese children. For example, when a child learn walk, western countries mothers and fathers often go before children without too much care. They also think that play is the same important as study. At the same time, they often go travel into the nature with their children because they consider the self feelings is more significant. It can improve childs recognition ability of things and master some outdoor survive skills. There is also another ways that western countries parents often encourage their children in the process of grow up. In the opposite, Chinas parents take very good care of the children from little to older. Some children at the ten years old may sleep with their parents or even dont wash their clothes. And most Chinese parents often help children do homeworks and pack their bags. Even many students dont learn suit their shoes ties. Those mainly effect by Chinese traditional family values and current social situation that parents too much spoil their children and they think families should make more sacrifice of the home. Meanwhile, the one child policy also accelerates this result. Chinese parents always adopt critical children method due to they too much hope their children be the best, but the critical method will reduce the confidence of the children. In the meantime, Chinese parents often at a dominant identity or a higher status to educate children. Yet, this action will decrease the opportunity of the communication and understand between parents and children. Chinese children often lack of outdoor exercises because the endless homeworks and live in a higher pressure life due to many exams. Their everyday duty is to study well in lots of books. So that a good family education method is very important, which can make things become better and in an easier way . 1.3 The Contents of Family Education in Western Countries and China 4 The content of family education is abundant. The biggest two aspects of family education are physical and psychological. In generally, western countries family education pays more attention to childrens all-round development. And the content is plentiful. They care about the emotion of children in many sides. For instance, western countries parents will talk about their childrens love with opposite sex in a direct way and more regards for their children how to making friends in school. They help children exercise the communication skills, live skills and work skills. In physical, they often take children to go outdoor exercises and travel. Most of western countries children can teach some they truly love and interest activities after class, such as play guitar, singing and skiing. However, Chinese parents pay more attention in nutrition supplement, the improve study intelligent, the scores and some traditional virtues. Chinese parents try their best to make good meals and nutrition pills from the little age of their children. And when children do some houseworks, they often say that: “you dont do those things; your duty is only to good study.” Sometimes child help do some things that their parents may feel guilty. Consequence, Chinese children have little courage to go in a risk. May be they think only high marks help they get what they want and almost every things they can dependent on their parents. As a result, children conforms a kind of custom that good study can make every thing perfect. Under this circumstance, many college graduates barely adapt to social require at the first job. Chinese parents care about less children interpersonal communication ability. They think their childrens high marks make them proud. Meantime, Chinese parents also teach their children with traditional virtues, like help others, return pick money and treat others friendly.
