His masterpiece The Great Gatsbyfully revealed the realization and the collapse of American Dream in 1920s.ThereareseveralreasonstoexplainthecollapseofAmericanDream:withtheunprecedented economical prosperity after WWI influencedby the AmericanDreamnumerouspeopleswarmedintotheurbanarea.Thevariousstagesofsocietyarerunningformoneyandachievingtheirpurposesbydifferentwaysmany American people stuck into confused helpless idle confused mentalstate.
