爱丽丝梦游仙境 原创 英文书评A book review of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland) is an 1865 novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. He was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon and photographer. On July 4, 1862 ,the author went sightseeing with Reverend Robinson Duckworth and three girls on the River Thames .One of the girls was exactly called Alice Liddell ,whom we know is the leading role of the story. In order to kill time during the journey, Dodgson told the girls a story that featured a bored little girl named Alice who goes looking for an adventure. The girls loved it, and Alice Liddell asked Dodgson to write it down for her. So, he did it and three years later , the book called Alice's Adventures in Wonderland published. It tells of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit hole into a fantasy world (Wonderland) .The creatures there are peculiar, intelligential and anthropomorphic .She experienced many fantastic things in wonderland which wont happen in the real world . In the end, Alice found that was only a dream, she was still sitting under the tree. And the story ended. But for me , of course I wont think of it only as a simple dream. I was deeply impressed with many plots. For example, when Alice fell down the hole, she didnt cry and cry like a common girl, on the contrary she showed her brave side to us. That really impressed and moved me .We can leaned a lot from this pure and intrepid girl. For the characters, Alice is the main character of the story. She is a cute and brave English seven-year-old girl with a good imagination, manners and behavior. In many movie versions of the book, Alice usually appears as a blonde girl, wearing a blue dress; The Mad Hatter is a wacky man and the leader of the Mad Tea Party. He is known to be very rude towards Alice and giving her stupid riddles without any answers. The White Rabbit is the rabbit who leads Alice to Wonderland. He is the first Wonderland Resident Alice meets. In the book and movie versions, the Rabbit wears a waistcoat where he pockets his watch. The Cheshire Cat is a peculiar cat that always grins and turns invisible at will. He is responsible of guiding Alice to the Mad Tea Party. The March Hare is the Mad Hatter's crazed sidekick who is also rude towards Alice. He likes to throw the teapot and other tableware. And he also likes to bite his ears and hands. He prefer cooking than doing any other things, a strange rabbit. The Caterpillar-A wise, but rude old bug who gives Alice advice about how to change sizes correctly by eating the mushroom. I love the story, and I love the little girl called Alice. In wonderland, impossible is nothing. Because our mind is stereotyped, we are already used to the set patterns. The things happened in wonderland may seems to be strange or stupid to us. Thats may be a tragedy to a persons life. We will lose so much fun in that way. Why cant we imagine or even do some crazy things? In fact, the story is a dream, but it shows me many different ideas and truth. Well have no choice but to face the difficulties when we grow up, but we cant lose our inherent pure heart. Wonderland is a nice place. It is a place I can follow my heart and do anything I want .Thats why I like this book. I always believe, the world follows your heart, if you think its beautiful, then, it would be. Like what Dickens said “The pure, the bright, and the beautiful. These things shall never die.”
