江苏省丹徒区世业实验学校七级英语下册UnitDreamhomes教案牛津课件Unit 1 Dream homes Welcome to the unit Teaching Aims: 1. Learn some names of places of interest, cities and countries in the world. 2. Arouse the students interests in the differences between countries. Step 1 Warming up Show some well-known places of interest in the world for the Ss to enjoy and let Ss know the phrase: place of interest: the Palace Museum Step 2 Presentation 1. Show some pictures to learn some words about different places and teach some countries and their capitals. Countries and Capitals: Japan Canada Russia the USA the UK France Tokyo Ottawa Moscow Washington DC London Paris 2. Then read aloud the new words. Step 3 Pair work 1. Practise in pairs like this to talk about some places of interest and the names of the countries and capitals to arouse the Ss interest in the topic in this unit. - Red Square is in the capital of Russia. Its in Moscow. 2. Then match the capitals with the countries. Step 4 Listening Listen to Part B and answer the questions. 1. What country are they talking about? 2. Whats in the photo? 3. Is Mount Fuji in Tokyo? Then work in pairs and talk about the places in Part A, using Part B as a model. Homework 1. Remember the new words and expressions in this lesson. 1 2. Preview the new words in Reading. Reading I Teaching Aims: 1. Learn some new words about talking about homes in different countries. 2. Practise reading skills by learning three blogs. Step 1 Presentation Present the new words with pictures and read them aloud: mile garden flat centre = center living room share Step 2 Warming up 1. Ask Ss the questions: What is your home like? 2. Let them talk about it with the help of the following expressions: I have a (big/small) house/ flat. It has a (garden/balcony/ bedroom/ bathroom/ living room) I like because I can there. Step 3 Reading 1. Listen to Neils blog and answer the questions: 1) Where does he live? 2) Which is his favorite place, the garden or the kitchen? 2. Listen to the second blog and complete the form. 3. Listen to the third blog and fill in the blanks. Stephen has a _ house in Los Angeles. It has _rooms. His favourite place is the _. He can see the _ and the _ from there. 4. Read aloud the blogs. 5. Complete the exercises B1-B4 on page 9&10. Step 4 Pair work Get into groups of four. One of Ss plays the interviewer. The other three play Neil, Anna and Stephen. Ask each of them at least four questions about their homes. Homework 2 1. Read aloud the blogs and underline the difficult parts, then discuss them . Reading II Teaching Aims: 1. Learn the language points in this article. 2. Learn to talk about Ss own homes. Step 1 Revision Look at the pictures and fill the blanks. This is Stephen from _. Step 2 Language points 1. I share a bedroom with my sister. We often listen to music in bed. share something (with somebody) 表示“共有某物”。如: Would you mind sharing the table with him? 你介意和他共用这张桌子吗? 注意:in bed = under the covers 在床上 on the bed = on top of the covers 在床上 2. I love to sit there and look out at the beach and the sea. 句中的look out 表示“向外看”,后面如果接宾语,需要使用介词。如: The old man often looks out of the window. 这位老人经常看着窗外。 3. I have my own bedroom and bathroom own可以作形容词,意为“自己的”,常与形容词性物主代词连用,短语of ones own意为“属于某人自己的”。例如: My sister likes to study at her own room.我妹妹喜欢在她自己的房间里学习。 I live in the house of my own. 我住在自己的房子里。 own还可以作及物动词,意为“拥有,所有”,后可直接跟宾语。例如: Do you own this house? 这是你的房子吗?/ 这所房子归你所有吗? I dont own anything of any value. 我没有任何值钱的东西。 3 Step 3 Exercises and Homework Grammar Teaching Aims: Learn the spellings and usages of the cardinal and ordinal numbers Step 1 Warming up 1. Enjoy a number song. 2. Talking about numbers freely. Remind Ss to ask such questions: Step 2 Present new words zero hundred thousand million foot (pl. feet ) square metre area over Step 3 Cardinal numbers 1. Teach the spelling and usages of cardinal numbers: zero, one million. 2. Teach Ss how to read the cardinal numbers: 3. Help them to find out the rules of reading a big number. 4. Read and learn 1) People from about 180 countries and areas live in New York. 2) The CN Tower is 1,815 feet tall. 3) Red Square in Moscow is about 91,000 square metres in size. Step 4 Ordinal numbers 1. Explain the usage of ordinal numbers. We use ordinal numbers to order things and events. We use them to talk about dates, floors, positions, etc . 2. Learn the spellings of the ordinal numbers with the help of the cardinal numbers. Remind the Ss the rules of the word-building. 6. Wilson lives on the _ floor. Step 5 Summary Homework 1. Remember the cardinal and ordinal numbers we learned in this lesson. 2. Finish the exercises on workbook. 4 Integrated skills Teaching Aims: 1. Learn some words about describing homes. 2.
