傲慢与偏见英文观后感Pride and Prejudice is a famous movie. After seeing it I think the film is really a classic, and I really want to see it again someday. Elizabeth was the heroine of the story. She was charming, strong-minded, and kind-hearted. But I prefer the hero, Darcy. Darcy was handsome, rich but antisocial. When he first met Elizabeth on the ball, he was soon absorbed in Elizabeths eyes, and he almost fell in love with her. But his proud appearance and farouche talk hurt Elizabeth and caused her prejudice to him. Darcy's pride causes him to look down on those who are in a lower social class, due to his mentality that he supersedes those who are not within his social circle. Given that Elizabeth Bennet is of a lower class than Darcy, this places immediate restrictions to their relationship. Elizabeth also displays significant pride. Though not influenced by economic status, Elizabeth is most proud of her ability of perception: although it is her ill perception which causes her to misjudge Darcy and also Wickham. When Elizabeth hears of Wickham's accusations of Darcy, she trusts the negative perception of him, and mistakenly views Darcy's confidence as conceit. As time went by, all the ups and downs made Elizabeth more prejudiced against Darcy. When Darcy proposed to her, Elizabeth rejected it at once without any hesitation. Poor Darcy didnt give up, he tried to clear the atmosphere and help her family out from the scandal. Finally, the misunderstanding was gone, they got together happily. Right that moment, none of a word could express my feeling. I never imagined that such kind of love could exist under such extreme pride and prejudice. I almost believed that the story would be true and it had ever happened somewhere sometime. There, people sang and danced and something sweetly changed without being noticed. Just as the saying goes “so many people, so many views.” People may have different judgment to this story. I think a good story should have its character. No matter it has a happy or sad, comic or tragic, plain or magnified end. I like it just because of itself. Since everything in it seems to be true, and I have learned something about British society during 18th century. Moreover, without “pride”, there would be no “prejudice”, and such great love would not happen. From their love story I realize that its stupid to judge a person just by the first impression and always have prejudice on the person who you dislike, and pride sometimes will make you far away from the people. From the story, we can see, because Darcys proud, he offended the girl he loved, and because of the prejudice, Elizabeth was failed to see the merits of Darcy, but fortunately, they didnt miss each other finally. Their love was romantic and also realistic. For instance, from the marriage between Charlotte Lucas and Mr. Collins, we found that their marriage totally depended on the position, money, and the background, not the love. Most women choose the men who can satisfy their material comforts to be their husbands at that time, just like Charlotte Lucas. She married Mr. Collins although she shared no common interests with him. She didnt love him while she married him indeed. She persuaded herself to tolerate her husbands strange and foolish behavior, and her only comfort was her big new house and rich material life. While in my eye, its really unfortunate to rest hope on the material comforts for her rest life. Although sometimes its necessary to consider the property, position, and background in the marriage, its wretched to marry just for the property, position and background. Charlotte Lucas married for the possession not love, and on the other hand, Mr. Collins married her because he needed a wife, not for love, either. Their marriage seemed to be necessary but not happy. However, I want to ask how to maintain the marriage without love? Charlotte Lucas adopted a most efficient way-to pay no attention to her husband no matter what he did, and turn a deaf ear to what he said. Since she didnt love him, she didnt need to care about him, either. The marriage of Charlotte Lucas and Mr. Collins represented most of the marriages at that time. Most women and men got married for money and power. The marriage had nothing to do with love. The wives were regarded as the beautiful vases for decoration. The husbands took the “vases” with them to the social occasion everyday while thinking about their career advancement in their heart and never cared about the feelings of the “vases”. And what caused this? The essential reason was the low social position of the women. The women were treated badly at that time. They had no work, and had no ability to maintain the life, so the marriage was the most efficient and popular way for them to keep their lives. Even the ladies in the upper class only played the role of a housewife. And this kind of marriage is surely a tragedy of society. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people's mind. A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children's marriages. Education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence ones marriage. Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. We cant help thinking: can money determine everything? From my perspective, I do not agree with this view. I think I can only get married because of love, and I'll never choose this kind of marriage under any situations.
