Living in a City or in the Countryside.docx
Living in a City or in the CountrysideLiving in a City or in the Countryside Nowadays city dwellers can relax themselves in the country during vacation; and country people have chance to experience city lifestyle when they come to cities. However, it is difficult to judge which kind of life is better than anther, urban life or rural life, because there still exits many differences between them, especially in the aspects of environment, education, and medical treatment. In the first place, the environment between city and countryside are completely different. In the rural areas, people can breathe clean and fresh air, hear the warble and enjoy the peace and quiet. Beautiful natural scenery and green fields are also attractive to people. Generally speaking, living in the countryside, people can be closer to nature. On the contrary, with the development of industry, the cities are filled with pollution. People who live in cities have to put up with the polluted air and industrial noise. Whats more, there are also other problems such as traffic jam, housing problem, personal security, refuse disposal and so on. Nextly, an equally important contrast is the education conditions. City dwellers can gain access to better information service and educational facilities. So studying in urban areas, students can own an abundant and qualified teaching faculty, advanced teaching equipment and elegant learning environment. However, children who live in rural areas have no access to multi-media teaching, library and museum to broaden their vision and increase their knowledge so that the chances of being admitted to colleges are slim. Whats worse, they even dont have books to read in more poorer rural areas. Besides, a significant difference also lie on the medical security conditions. Urbanites can enjoy fully advanced medical equipment when they suffer from diseases and need some medical operations. Also, the doctors technical level is high and the medical environment is perfect. Whats more, the community clinic provides great convenience for them. But in rural areas, they lack clinics and hospitals and talented doctors. People often have to go to the neighboring small clinic and even the hospital of big city that is far away from home to see a doctor. Moreover, the medical appliances are imperfect and the hygienic conditions are unsafe. Obviously, whatever life they have, people can never feel perfectly satisfied, for conveniences and inconveniences always coexist. People wish that they could enjoy the pleasures of both lives. I believe that with the integration of urban and rural development, the dream can come true in the near future.
