    How do you go there英文教案PEP Grade 6 Unit 1: How do you go there? (Lesson one: Lets start; lets chant; lets learn) Pupil Description: A class of primary school Grade 6 pupils. Level of English: Learned English for two years in school. Teaching aims: 1, Pupils are able to listen, say, read and write the phrases: on foot, by bike, by bus, by train. 2, Pupils are able to listen, say and recognize the phrases: by plane, by ship, by subway. 3, pupils are able to use “How do you go to school/Guangzhou/USA/Canada”to ask the ways people go out, and be able to answer “I go by ”. 4, Pupils are able to say the chant: How do you go to school Key points & difficulties: Pupils are able to master the seven phrases: on foot, by bus, by bike, by train, by ship, by plane, by subway, and are able to ask and describe the ways they go out: “How do you go to school/Guangzhou/USA/Canada”, “I go by ”. Teaching preparation: Phrase cards, PPT, chant flash, some photos that teacher took in Guangzhou, and some cartoon stickers. Designing for the blackboard: Unit 1: How do you go there? Guangzhou USA How do you go to school ? I go to on foot/by bike/by bus/by ship / by train /by plane/by subway. Teaching procedures: Step 1: Warm up Greetings ( on the first day of new term) T: Good morning, boys and girls. Welcome back to school. Nice to see you, again. Ss: Nice to see you, too. T (talking to student1): How are you today? S1: Fine, thank you. T: How is weather today? S2: Its sunny. T: How was your summer holiday? Did you have a happy summer holiday? S3: Yes, I did. Step 2:Lead-in and presentation 1, Teacher continues talking, leading in the traveling to Guangzhou, and teaches the new sentences structures and phrases. T: I have a very happy summer holiday, too. I traveled to many beautiful places. Now let me show you some photos. Look at the screen, and guess where I am, OK? T shows two photos taken in Guangzhou. T: Where am I? S: Guangzhou! T: Right! You are so clever! I went to Guangzhou. T introduces the traveling experience briefly. T: So how did I go to Guangzhou. Do you know? (explain it in Chinese) Ss:火车。 T:Yes. I went to Guangzhou by train. (shows the train photo, phrase card and teaches)Read after me, by train. T: If you want to go to Guangzhou, how do you go there? S4: I go by train. T: Great. I go to Guangzhou by train. (Students follow) 2, T: Is there any ways to go to Guangzhou? Who can tell me? S5:坐飞机。 T:Yeah, we can go to Guangzhou by plane. T shows the “by plane” card and teaches it. 3, T: You know, Guangzhou is a very big city. I often went shopping with my sister by subway. T shows the picture of subway, and introduces it. T: Subway. Do you know about it? S6:地铁。 T: Yeah. It is an underground railway in a city, different from train. Train is built on the ground. It goes very fast. T teaches “by subway” with the card as above. 4, T: Now we cant go out by subway in Changsha, because it is still under construction. So I usually go out by bus. T teaches the phrase “by bus”, then presents a world map on ppt. 5, T: Look, I have a world map. Please find out the countries you know, OK? Ss: China/USA/Japan/Canada T: OK. Now lets suppose that you have a friend living in USA, you want to go there to play with him, how do you go to USA? S7: By plane. T: Wonderful! You go there by plane. Any other ways? Can you go to USA by bus? Or by subway? Ss: No.坐船去。 T:Yeah. USA is too far away from China. You see, there is a wide ocean, so we go to USA by ship. (teaches “by ship” as above) 6, T presents the school photo. T:I usually go to school on foot,(walking to students)but sometimes I go by bike.(teaches on foot/by bike) How about you? How do you go to school? Ss: on foot/by bike/by bus Step 3: Practice 1, T shows all the phrase and pictures. T: Now we have learned so many ways to go somewhere. Please look at the PPT, and read after me.( read the phrases together) 2, Game One: Magic Eyes T shows the phrase card quickly, Ss recognize it and speak out as fast as they can. 3, Game Two: Quick Response: T fixes all the phrase cards on the blackboard, and asks two representative students from two groups to the front. T says a phrase or a sentence, and students listen careful, then touch the right card quickly. The winner will get an apple for his group. Step 4: Consolidation 1, T Presents photos of different places on PPT, including Beijing, Hainan, Canada, school, Changsha Zoo) ,and Ss use the new phrases and sentences structures to make a dialogue in pairs. Ss discuss for 2minutes, then T ask some volunteers to make dialogues. S1: Where do you want to go? S2: I want to go to Changsha Zoo. S1: How do you go there? S2:I go by bus. 2, Lets chant: How do you go to school Step 5: Assigning homework T assigns the homework, and explain it to the Ss. T: Todays homework is to make a survey. After class, please ask your classmates in English “Where do you want to go” & “How do you go there”, and write down their answers: How do you go there? Names Places Ways to go
