Unit4 Don't eat in class说课稿Unit 4 Dont eat in class. Section A 1a-1c说课稿 Good morning, everyone. My name is Ji Xiuli. Im from No.1 Middle School of Toksun. Today Im very pleased to have an opportunity to talk about some of my teaching ideas. Now I am going to talk about the topic of this unit “Dont eat in class!” The first part is the analysis of the teaching material. . Analysis of teaching material My speech is the first period of Unit 4. The topic of this unit is "Don't eat in class". It is one of the units of Grade Seven. It focuses on school rules. It is necessary for a junior student to obey rules of school, family and society. When it comes to talking about rules, the imperative sentence and modal verbs like can and have to should be mastered and needed by students. . Analysis of the students Rules are very important for us. There are also a lot of rules in our school. But some students hate the rules. Some of students usually break the school rules. So we should teach them to know about school rules. Encourage students not to break the rules and make them love our school. III. Teaching aims Then, the third part of my presentation is teaching aims. For language aims students should master the following words, such as "rule, 1 arrive, hallway, fight and etc, and sentences like don't listen to music in class, we can't fight in class. For ability aims, student can make a dialogue and talk about rules in the target language. For emotion targets, students should obey rules and have a deep understanding of rules. IV. Teaching key points and difficulties And the fourth part I will talk about is teaching key points and difficulties. Key points: Imperative sentence and modal verb “can”. Difficult points: Talk about rules in the target language. V. Teaching methods So the fifth part of my presentation I will talk about is the teaching methods. In order to inspire their interest of learning English, I will give them more opportunities to speak English and listen to the original English. I choose listening and speaking procedure. And task-based teaching procedure will be also applied. Students work in groups and cooperate with each other. In this process they can improve themselves and learn from each other. VI. Studying methods In this class , I will mainly adopt two studying methods: 1.Students study by themselves: Students preview the lesson is a good habit. 2.Students study by group cooperation: In this way students can learn 2 from each other, and they will be very happy in class. VII. Teaching procedures Now I will introduce teaching procedures, mainly divided into five steps. Step I Warming up and lead in. In order to review the knowledge learnt before. Im going to ask students to practice the modal verb “can”. Holding an apple in my hand, I ask students “Can we eat in the classroom?” Students will answer “No, we cant.” I will lead students to say “No, we cant. We cant eat in the classroom.” Then show a picture of our school and play a piece of music. Then practice “Can we listen to music in class? No, we cant. We cant listen to music in class.” Students will practice: We cant fight. We cant arrive late for class. We cant run in the hallways. Step II Presentation. Step 1 Lead in “Dont ” Show the pictures again. T: We cant run in the hallways .We can also say “Dont run in the hallways”. (Write the sentence on the blackboard.) Show the other pictures, ask students to write the sentence “Dont ”on the blackboard. Step 2 Play a game. In order to consolidate what we learnt just now, and make our English 3 class interesting, I make this activity. One says “Do sth”, another one from the other group says “We cant do sth”. Another one from the different group says “Dont do sth”. For example: A: Eat in class. - B: We cant eat in class. - C: Dont eat in class. Step 3 Activity 1a. T: Look at the picture in 1a, here are some students and the boxes next to them. Each of these students is breaking one of these rules, write the number of the rule next to him or her. I give you one minute to do it. Go! Then ask one student show his answers to other students. Step 4 Listening(1b) Teacher tells the students about what they are going to listen. (Peter, Amy and Mike are in the picture. And ask : What rules are they breaking ? Then number after the names. T: For the first time, you just listen.(In this way, students can get the whole information.) For the second time, please finish activity 1b. Then check answers. For the Third time, close your books, listen and repeat. (Students try to imitate pronunciation and intonation.) Step III. Pairwork. Show some pictures again and ask students to work in pairs.(Practice the target languages as more ways as possible. 4 Step IV Groupwork and happy Show! In order to make students use the target language learnt in this class. I will prepare some pieces of paper. On each paper here is a task. The tasks are “Talk about the rules in the classroom. Talk about the rules in the library. Talk about the rules in the dormitory.” Students have 5 minutes to discuss in the groups. When times up, the group leaders are going to ask his/her members “What are the rules?” Each member says one rule. The group that has more rules and speaks loudly and fluently can get more scores. Step V Self check. Let the students complete the self check exercises, group leader is responsible for the supervision, and give others help when necessary. VIII. Summary and homework. In this class, we have learned some key vocabulary, such as rule ,hallway, fight. And we also practiced some key sentences about rules using dont , cant and no+Ving . I think we should learn how to make rules, its very important in our life. Todays homework: 1.Write a short composition to make rules for your family using the target language. 2.Preview the next period. IX. Blackboard design. 5 Unit 4 Dont eat in class. I write these words and phrases on the blackboard in order to tell the students that they are very important .I think my blackboard design will help students understand the lesson better. X. Evaluation. The students in the class will be divided into 6 groups, in every step of teaching they will have a competition, at last the group with the highest scores is the winner group, their homework can be cut in half, and they will be added 5 points.
