Mark Twain is a great critical realist writerMark Twain was born in Mississippi River town of a rural poverty lawyer family, when he was young he had done many positions such as an apprentice, line workers, Mississippi River sailor and so on, but the effective work was to be a reporter and write humor literature. It had a great influence for Mark Twains creative works. Besides Mark Twain's life seemed destined to bring legend. The year of his birth Halley's comet had across in the sky. Later, Mark Twain predictioned for himself, when in 1910 Halley's comet appeared again he would die. That year April 19 and comet appeared, he also died in the second day.Mark Twain was the founder of critical realism literature, the world famous of the short fiction master, best known for his superb sense of humor. He experienced the development process from the "free" capitalism to imperialism, and his ideas and creative works also changed from relaxly to sarcastic to pessimistic stage. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was the story of a white kids ranaway with a black slaves and wandered about the Mississippi River. Underlying Twain's good humor it exposed to us a dark subcurrent of Antebellum cruelty and injustice that makeed The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn a frequently funny book with a serious message. In short, Mark Twain was a great realistic writer. He made the great contribution to American literature development. It was him who combined the American folk humor and serious literature together, His friend said that he was the “history of the Lincoln literature”. Helen Keller once said: "I like Mark Twain-who don't like him? Even if is god, will also love him, give their wisdom, and in its heart out love and faith a painting of the rainbow. William Faulkner said Mark Twain was "the first real American writer, we are inheriting him".2. Mark Twain is a master of humour As we all know, Mark Twain was good at humor, almost all his works are full of humor. For example, in The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin, when Huck determined to help Jim fled, he said:" ok, let me go to hell!", "this is terrible, terrible words! but I am just say so. And if I am, I will tell the mouth never intended to be right. I just put this matter from the head all them out. I said, I will go to the evil way, and this is my field, grew up well. So go the other way is not adept as the beginning." This is a psychological description full of satire and humorous: obviously, rescuing slaves is a good thing, but he was called it the "evil". But if we take the particular social environment to think about it, it is really a "evil". Twain mixed white language and black language together to describe the dark world, so as to make people smile and thought-provoking.American literature professor Karl Byrd (Karl Bode) believe Mark Twain progressively mixed the American folk humor and serious literature of other writers together. 3. Mark Twains American humor in The Adventures of Huckleberry FinThe Adventures of Huckleberry Fin was one of the succeed novel of Mark Twain, it is his masterpiece, now let's try to understand the American humor of this novel. 3.1 Mark Twain's works are always a laughingMark Twain was famous master of humor in the world, his works are popular, one of the reason is that the language of the works is humor, making people laugh. These points attracted the attention of the readers. For example, in book there is a passage : “If I see a stump, I took it for a man; If I trod on a stick and broke it, it made me feel like a person had cut one of my breaths in two and I only got half, and the short half, too.” It is so funny that he compared the broken branches to cut down the pant! How can cut off pant ? But we will smile for real feel of hucks psychology. Twain is always good at attracting the reader's heart with this wonderful humorous language. 3.2 Mark Twains skillful tips of all the mocks Perhaps it was just because of the sailors experience, he had a chance to learn about all kinds of irony and mock language; Perhaps he was used to the note that this kind of language and collected a large amount of this kind of words. In this novel, we can see many examples.Example One:“Then the old man got to cussing, and cussed everything and everybody he could think of, and then cussed them all over again to make sure he hadn't skipped any, and after that he polished off with a kind of a general cuss all round, including a considerable parcel of people which he didn't know the names of, and so called them what's-his-name when he got to them, and went right along with his cussing.” Example Two:Example “He's plumb crazy, s'I; it's what I says in the fust place, it's what I says in the middle, 'n' it's what I says last 'n' all the time - the nigger's crazy - crazy 's Nebokoodneezer, s'I.”These two examples express the special character of the specific person. 3.3 Mark Twain's mature literature weapons is funny language and dialect. In this book, Twain used several kinds of funny languages and dialects, including black language and northwest regions vulgar language and Pikeswille dialect. Jim's language is typical of black language. For example: “Well, you wouldn't ben here if it hadn't Jim. You'd a been down dah in de woods widout any dinner, en gittn' mos' drownded, too; dat you would, honey. Chickens knows when it's gwyne to rain, en so do de birds, chile.” This is typical of black language, pronunciation fuzzy, and always omitted many syllables. Using dialect language can reflect a lack of education in the black.3.4 Mark Twains witty and ironic tone reflecting many sad painful things. Twain said: "the secret of humour itself is not comfortable and happy, but sad." In real life he found many sad painful things, but wrote them with a witty and ironic tone, let a person can not help smiling, let people smile. he said: it is a really effective weapon, and nothing can resist smiling. He never for humor and humor. He is proud of, when 78 for humor and humorous writer in his contemporaries has disappeared, he was still in the United States to continue his literary world with his criticism and sarcastic humor. The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin is immortal, because he through described a 14 years old child's , a national life and soul was written decritly by the sound of a laugh in humor. Mark Twain said, ". a foreigner can copy a national appearance. any foreigner can understand its intrinsic content-it's soul, life, language, thought. only one, he can understand people's soul and life, and he has the qualification to describe them from beginning to end -this is the national novelist."4. Mark Twain made tremendous contributions for American literature humorHemingway had once said The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn was the best novel in the history of American literature at that time.I admire him since he had won the Nobel Price ,a symbol of kind of authority. From the Internet,I also learned that the story of Huck Fin is so popular in U.S. that several movies about it had been released. It is only natural for me to hold high expectation towards the book. William Faulkner said: " is the father of literature." This shows the great contribution that Mark Twain made for American literature , the deep influence on the later writers.Mark Twain developed the ironic, even sad humor from pure humor, it is his humorous becomes a kind of important literary style from generation to generation!5. ConclusionWhen reading the novel, I was astounded by Huck's free will and his typical character. He hates to "sivilized"by the conventional morality and would rather live in the wild to explore the truth of the nature.Besides, the language of the book is also "unsilvilized",it is composed with the dialect among blacks in the southern states. As an authentic presentation of the life of southerners, the wording is coherent with the style of Huck:fresh and unspoiled.Works CitedBode Carl.Literature for the Advanced Study of English, Book II.
