Our love in this societyAbstraction:In this article , the topic of how to love is talked about . Vampire Diary,Gone with the wind , Wuthering Heights have been read . In these novels , LOVE is expressed in different ways, and we can see the people there have different feelings about it ,so they chose different ways to love ,which is perhaps the best for them .Key Words:Love Twilight Gone with the Wind Wuthering Heights Introduction:Love is a eternal topic for we humans.Different people have different life , so they chose different ways to love. I have gone through some novels ,in which love is expressed clearly .Someone chooses to be together whatever happened or whatever will happen. However someone chooses to go away just because he or she thinks that if he isnt here ,she can live a better life. We cannot say which is right or which is wrong ,but maybe we can learn something from them to know which is best for us .The kind of being together forever:TwilightIn Twilight ,the hero Edward is a vampire ,while the heroin Bella is a human. So between humans and vampires how love can be kept ?Can it be kept beyond time ? Well ,when i read Twilight ,i always feel that the love between a human and a vampire is incredible .As we know ,Vampires and humans belong to two different worlds ,and they cannot escape the limit of time. Time is a long river before love . Due to its presence , i feel that our love is tiny and powerless .Bella ,the pretty girl ,leaved the heat from the sunlight ,far away from her mothers smile ,came to Edwards arms. She fell in love with him without any regrets. In her heart, Edward was her all .Though Edward said that he wanted her to be a normal person and he hoped that she could have her original life .After reading this novel ,i think that time is a great thing but they two tried to go out of control by it .They just want to be together forever with not caring about the limit of the time .After her being together with Edward for a long time when she was a human ,she chose to be with him forever .Then she spent no efforts to do it ,because she knew that there were so many difficulties in their being together if she was a human while Edward was a Vampire .So after struggling for a time ,she chose to be a vampire and to be with Edward forever .Gone with the windRhett Butler is a dashing renegade, the man who is rumoured to have ruined a woman (whispered in shocked tones among Scarletts companions). But he is a hero at the same time.He jeered the Souths arrogant, but when he saw the soldiers fight bravely to protect their home,he was moved and join the army immediately. Butler is not a traditional gentleman. He is overbearing and wanton, and unpolitely. He is a man who is full of contradiction which makes him so charming. That is the reality of social calm and unrestrained passion of love, like the mixture of fire and ice. We interpret his character by way of analyzing his attitude to the South and the War. His tortuous and full of tragic love story reflect his passion love to Scarlett. Furthermore, we expound on the reason of his character formation. That is particular growth experience and social environment of the time. The theme of the paper is the courage of straighten the life, the indestructible spirit. The practical significance of this character shaped by Rhett is revealing the strength and weaknesses of personality .Maybe you will say that Rhett didnt be with Scarlett in the end ,but what i want to say is that they are the people who can sacrifice everything for love. This two examples above both show us that this is a kind of love that being together forever and they can sacrifice everything foe their love. The kind of love that going away:Wuthering HeightsThe book was written by Emily Bronte, it published in 1847.But at that time, it seemed to hold little promise, selling very poorly and receiving only a few mixed reviews. I found this in our school library, I chose this book because the title attracted me. The book is structured around two parallel love stories, the first half of the novel centering on the love between Catherine and Heatchcliff, while the less dramatic second half features the developing love between young Catherine and Hareton. In contrast to the first, the latter tale ends happily, restoring peace and order to Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange. In the story, the two houses, Wuthering Heights and Thrushcross Grange, represent opposing worlds and values.I spent twenty days reading this book. After reading this book, I felt for Heathcliff at first. Heathcliff begins his life as a homeless orphan on the streets of Liverpool, and then he tyrannized by Hindley Earnshaw. But he becomes a villain when he acquires power and returns to Wuthering Heights with money and the trappings of a gentleman. His malevolence proves so great and longlasting. As he himself points out, his abuse of Isabellahis wife is purely sadistic, as he amuses himself by seeing how much abuse she can take and still come cringing back for more.Catherine represents wild nature, in both her high, lively spirits and her occasional cruelty. She loves Heathcliff so intensely that she claims they are the same person. However, her actions are driven in part by her social ambitions, which initially are awakened during her first stay at the Lintons, and which eventually compel her to marry Edgar. Catherine is freespirited, beautiful, spoiled, and often arrogant, she is given to fits of temper, and she is torn between her both of the men who love her. The location of her coffin symbolizes the conflict that tears apart her short life. She is buried in a corner of the Kirkyard. In contrast to Catherine, Isabella LintonCatherines sisterinlaw represents culture and civilization, both in her refinement and in her weakness. Ultimately, she ruins her life by falling in love with Heathcliff. He never returns her feelings and treats her as a meretool in his quest for revenge on the Linton family.Just as Isabella Linton serves as Catherines foil, Edgar Linton serves as Heathcliffs. Edgar grows into a tender, constant, but cowardly man. He is almost the ideal gentleman. However, this full assortment of gentlemanly characteristics, along with his civilized virtues, proves useless in Edgars clashes with his foil. He sees his wife obviously in love with another man but unable to do anything to rectify the situation. Heathcliff, who gains power over his wife, sister , and daughter. The whole story make peoples mood heavy. Fortunately, the end is happy.待添加的隐藏文字内容2I like this book because it rest on the unforgettable characters. When heatchcliff saw Catherine in beautiful dress and behaving just like a lady from a wellbred family while he still suffered from Hindleys torment ,he chose to leave. He knew that Catherine could leave a better life with Edgar .When Edgar was supposed to come to Catherines home ,he said to Ellen that he wanted to be decent .And then he become good actually. But Hindley made him in the house .After a long times struggling ,he chose to leave though he loved Catherine so much. Our love in this societyWith our mind changed a lot in nowadays , sometimes we dont care so much about love .We people become more complicated than before .The quantity of flash marriage become larger and larger .People fell in love so quick that they didnt know the other so clearly .So the rate od divorce rised heavily .No matter where you are ,please remember the feeling of love ,which can help you have a bright heart .No matter how you choose to love ,please remember you are someone who loved by others, who dont want you to be hurt .No matter what you are going to do ,please keep love in your heart, what will help you meet the one who will accompany you forever.References:Twilight ( Stefany Mail )Gone with the Wind ( Pubished in 1936,written by Mitchell )Wuthering Heights ( Published in 1847 ,written by Emily Bronte)
