1: 从光驱启动服务器· 使用ESX安装介质启动服务器· 选择图形安装模式Step 2:出现 Welcome to the ESX Installer界面· 单击Next开始安装Step 3: 显示终端用户许可协议End User License Agreement· 选中I Accept the terms of the license agreement ，单击 Next 继续Step 4: 出现Select Keyboard界面· 选择恰当的键盘类型后单击Next继续Step 5: 出现Custom Drivers页面，在此可以加载定制的硬件驱动。· 如果需要为系统另外加载驱动，选择Yes，然后单击Add 并提供驱介质来安装驱动；若不需加载驱动程序，选择No，然后单击 Next。Step 6: Load Drivers· 弹出确认框，选择Yes系统将加载ESX所需的驱动。将显示加载驱动进度条，当显示100% Complete后，单击 Next继续。Step 7: License· 在此页面需要输入ESX Server的序列号。也可安装完成后通过vCenter Server来设定。填入正确的序列号或选择Enter a serial number later，单击 Next。Step 8a: 出现Network Configurationl界面· 选择 ESX Server控制台使用的网络接口，如果网络需要设置VLAN，则选中 This adapter Requires a VLAN ID(Leave Unchecked if you are not sure) 并在VLAN ID中填入vlan号。然后单击 Next。Step 8b: Network Configuration· 选择Use the following network settings配置静态网络地址。· 配置 ESX Server主机网络IP 地址和ESX Server主机名称。根据需要键入包括域在内的完整计算机名称。Step 8c: Network Test· 单击Test these network settings。· 如检测网络有问题，则检查网络并重新设置，直到检测成功。单击Next。Step 9: Setup Type选择安装类型：Standart setup:在单个硬盘或lun中安装ESX，分区按默认进行；Advanced setup：有多个硬盘或需要定制分区· 此处以Advanced setup type为例，将允许定制存储分区。选中Configure boot loader automatically，单击Next。Step 10:在ESX Storage Device界面，将列出ESX检测到的存储设备或LUN。· 选择要安装ESX server的存储设备，单击next。Step 10a: Delete Device Contents· 弹出警告信息，提示选中的存储空间中的数据将被清除o 单击OK将清除原来的信息并安装ESXo 单击Cancel 可重新选择不同的磁盘。Step 10b: Datastore· 缺省情况下，VMFS Datastore 将被创建并存储Service Console VM，默认命名为Storage1· Datastore命名可在此处更改。要确保每个Datastore命名是维一的。Step 10c: Service Console Virtual Disk Image· 显示缺省的分区，可以通过Edit修改分区大小，也可增加新的分区。· 此处将删除所有的分区并重新分区。· 选中分区，并点击Delete, 依次删除所有的分区。Step 10d: 确定定制分区大小· 推荐使用以下的分区设定上： 类型分区大小/ext35.0GBswap600MB/homeext3512MB/tmpext32.0GB/vmimagesext3512MB/var/logext32.0GB· 此外安装时会自动创建下面的分区，但在分区列表中不会显示出来。/bootext3260MBvmkcore100MBStep 10e: Service Console Virtual Disk Image custom· 将所有的默认分区删除后，点击New将创建定制的分区。 · 创建第一个分区：/ · 出现提示时, 按照下面的描述设置/分区：o Mount Point: /o File System Type: ext3o Size: 5 GB· 点击OK 创建分区Step 10f: Service Console Virtual 设置适当的时区。设定后单击Next继续。· 设置日期和时间。此处可设置NTP服务器自动同步，也可手工设定。设置后点击Next继续。 Step 12: Set Administrator Password· 为root用户设置密码o 输入根密码。在两个字段中键入同一密码，然后单击 Next。根密码必须至少包含六个字符。如果密码不匹配，则会显示警告。· 此处还可添加另外的用户账号o 输入每个账号的用户名和密码。Step 13: Summary of installation settings· 确认安装配置，然后单击 Next。· 注意： 这是取消并返回先前配置的最后机会。单击 Next后，安装程序将开始分区和格式化文件系统。· 显示表明安装状态的进度条，进度条到100% Complete后单击Next。Step 14: ESX 4.0 Installation 此目录所在盘推荐最小有20GB的磁盘空间。Step 9: Ready to Install the Program· 单击Install继续安装过程。Step 10: InstallShield Wizard Completed· 当出现此界面时，点击Finish完成安装。Step 11: 安装vSphere客户端插件· 启动vSphere Client· 从菜单中选择Plug-In
